This includes video sources from across your network. These can be on media servers or other computers connected through the network. Available sources can be changed through Media Sources.
The Internet area allows you to connect Boxee to the rich media content available across the Internet. Some sources include CBS, Hulu, and video Podcasts. From here you can also access all of your RSS subscriptions added through http://www.boxee.tv.
With the ever increasing number of video content sources on the Internet, the Boxee team is continuously upgrading and improving this area. If the applications you see are not listed in this user guide, it means it has recently been added and we haven't caught up in the guide yet.
Through the CBS application you can access clips or full episodes of your favorite CBS online shows. This menu is driven by the offerings through CBS, so we won't be able to completely describe the options in this user guide. When you select a show from the available list, you'll either be presented with a list of available programs or available seasons. From the list of seasons, you'll be directed to the list of shows. The Now Playing episode will be displayed in green.
The Hulu application provides access to the full library of content available through Hulu.com. As Hulu expands its library, the content available through Boxee will update, so full listings will not be available in this user guide. When you select the Hulu application, you'll be presented with two categories, Movies and TV Shows.
Mac OS: If you have an account on Hulu, you'll be able to login from Boxee and access your Hulu Queue. Linux: Direct access to Hulu queue is not available in version 0.9-r3970.
From the Applications area you can access content from your own selection of video RSS feeds. To subscribe to a feed, access your account through http://www.boxee.tv and navigate to the My RSS section. Once you have subscribed to video feeds, the feeds with their current content will be accessed through the Video Applications section.
Feeds are listed alphabetically by name. The content of the feeds will be listed as they are in the feed itself. Typically this is reverse chronology, but is dependent on the feed source.
Boxee has a registry of a number of different video podcasts available. This is not an exhaustive list of podcasts, but provides access to their content without having to setup a subscription through the My Feeds area. Videos are organized into categories.
The Browse option provides access to additional sources configured through the Media sources settings. These can include other folders on the local machine, other computers on the network, or storage devices available through the network.
